0-3 Make copper ingots (4x copper ore and a fire crystal, or Yagugo Necklace and a lightning crystal) Also note that with the necklace you won't gain any skillups past level one or two I believe. In bastok I find it cheaper to use copper ores anyway, because they can be bought from the goldsmithing guild and the smithing guild for anywhere between 12 and 20 gil. Also, for those who are rank 5 or higher there is a shop that is inside the dock for the airship to Jeuno that sells copper ores, I'm not sure if the (galka, I think it is, in a tent) has them all the time, but I have seen them there twice for only 12 gil. On my server a stack of these ingots sells for around 3000, which would be a small profit, but I would reccomend saving them.

3-7 At this level I made copper hairpins from all of the copper ingots I had. I did levels 5-7 on Darksday to get faster skillups and had enough ingots to get all the way to seven because of that. The hairpins sell for a very low amount of gil (less than the ingot used to make it) so I ended up selling all mine to the goldsmithing guild. These can also be broken down back into copper ingots with with lightning crystals, but with the break rate and the amount you spend on the lightning crystals, it's not really worth it.

7-10 Brass ingots are the easist and best way to level here. You can get the three copper needed from the guilds, and also the zinc needed from the goldsmithing guild for about 275-350 gil. Stacks of these sell for about 7800-8000 gil on my server (Bahamut) so you can actually make about 1000 gil per stack on these assuming you get no breaks (which you will from levels 7-9 ocassiaonly) BUt again, I recommend holding on to these if you can for later crafting.

10-13 Brass sheets: Brass ingots can be turned into brass sheets with a fire crystal. Stacks of sheets generally sell for the same as ingots, so you essentially losing the cost of the fire crystals you use. These can also be turned into Brass scales with wind crystals if you want to level with these more, but Brass scales sell for around 3,000 gil on my server, which is a 5000 gil loss per stack, plus the cost of wind crystals, not worth it in my mind.

13-15 Craft Silver ingots out of Silver beast coins, you can probably come out even at this level as far as money is concerned because you will get the occasional break. Silver beast coins are usually cheaper in Jeuno as compared to bastok, so I recommend buying alot while your there.

15-18 I crafted silver ingots out of beastcoins still, but I always did it on darksday. At this level I got 1 break out of 36 crafts and 3 levels. Since you shouldn't be breaking as many or sometimes none at all you can actually make between 1000 and 3000 gill per stack of these, depending on your server.

18-20 I bought all my silver ores from the goldsmith guild for 315 gil a piece, crafted on darksday and got zero breaks. Two stacks of these got me the two levels I needed and also, spending 30240 gil on 98 silver ores and 4000 gil on 24 fire crystals, I sold both stacks for 23,000 gil and netted over 10,000 gil! I also suggest buying and crafting silver ingots if you can buy the ores from the the guild for 315 because you can always (at least on my server) sell them at the AH for a decent profit.

20-24 The gil I made during the last couple of elvels was lost here unfortunatley. I crafted I think 5 stacks of Brass ingots, which cost me 31600 in materials, then bought 60 Bronze hammers from Zhikkoms weaponry shop (the guy in the back) which were 333 gil a piece for me (current fame is level). This means I ended up spending a little over 50,000 gil. Craft all those bronze hammers into brass hammers. At this point, brass hammers sell for about 800 gil but not really that fast and I don't have enough room to put 60 of them up, so I sold them back to the goldsmithing guild for about I think it was 525~ish gil a piece. This resulted in almost a 20,000 gil loss, which I was pretty sore about.

24-27 I had about 20 silver ingots on me, which I made out of silver ores I bought from the guild. I purchased 36 wind crystals and 36 lightning crystals. I made the 20 ingots into hairpins. Then Desynthesized them back into Silver ingots. I think I got about 14 ingots total, losing 6 hairpins. Then I crafted those 14 ingots back into hairpins again which brought me to level 27. I broke those 14 hairpins into ingots again, and this time I think I only lost two hairpins. So my losses were 8 silver ingots, and about 6000 gil in crystals, which is about 18,000 gil. But I got very lucky on one of my crafts and got a Silver hairpin +1, which is odd for when your leveling crafting. This sells for about 9000 gil on my server so that cuts my losses in half, which made losing gil a little easier to take.

27-33 Silver chains are easiest here. I don't suggest crafting on darksday for extra skillups because your crafting expensive material with a large skill gap. If you make all you own silver ingots, it should cost you about 36,000 to make a stack of silver chains, and these can be sold for about 32,000 a stack on my server. Overall not bad for leveling, but still, losing money is never fun.

33-38 I used Mythril beastcoins to get through these levels, because they easiet to buy (because they stack) and also a little but cheaper. The price fluctuated alot while I was at this level, but I believe I came out of it losing onle a small amount of gil.

38-40 Mythril ores will level you from here. This is the first time I Don't suggest buying them from the guild. They go for about 1500 at the guild but you can usually get them for 1100-1300 at the Auction houses. With no breaks you can make a few thousand at this level.

Bear in mind I used Advanced image synthesis for every single time I was crafting, even if I was only a level under the cap. Because even if this can save you from only one break, it is already paying for itself.
